The Government of Punjab, Department of Medical Education and Research, vide Notification No. MER-HTH3/41/2022-3H3/1075 dated 29/11/2024, has constituted the Punjab State Allied & Healthcare Council (PSAHC) under Section 22 of the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions Act, 2021.

The Council has been established to regulate and maintain standards of education and professional services in Allied and Healthcare fields, oversee institutional assessments, maintain the State Register, and develop systems to enhance access, research, innovation, and adoption of the latest scientific advancements, along with other related matters.
